Dinosaur Jr. comes back to The Orange Peel

Let's get loud

Part band, part spiritual alternative rock experience – Dinosaur Jr. are legends in every sense of the word. Since 1984, J Mascis and pals have been melting the minds and ears of the music scene with their distinct sound and style of songwriting. Tomorrow night at The Orange Peel, they'll be playing a show with openers Easy Action that is going to be both fun and loud. Very fun. Very loud.

A purrfect night with Thundercat

Groovy vibes galore at his Tuesday night performance

Tuesday night at The Orange Peel was a big ol' party of funk thanks to Thundercat and his backing band. There was truly no better way to welcome the chilly temperatures of Fall than with Stephen Bruner's warm, bass-alicious musical prowess. Openers Saco & Uno and PBDY got the night's good vibes off to a great start, and when Thundercat took the stage shortly after the evening was in full swing.

Com Truise cruises through New Mountain

One of the pioneers of the retrowave movement comes to Asheville

This Wednesday night New Mountain is gonna get thoroughly vibed out thanks to Com Truise and friends. Opening acts Nosaj Thing and Cleopold are set to get the night off to a chill start. If you don't already know, main act Com Truise is the brainchild of super talented artist and all around cool guy Seth Haley. Coming to Asheville straight from upstate New York, Haley is one of those artists that has a seriously loyal following of electronic music lovers no matter where he goes.

It's time to get funky with Thundercat

The multi-genre musical mastermind comes to Asheville

Steven Bruner, better known by his alter ego Thundercat, will bring his eclectic and groovy musical talents to The Orange Peel tomorrow night. Openers Saco & Uno and PBDY will kick the evening off and serve as the perfect appetizers to the main feast of funk provided by Bruner. For those unfamiliar with Thundercat, allow me to strongly urge you to not sleep on this.

The Orange Peel + Broken Social Scene = Yes

A magical night of musical prowess from the Canadian indie rockers

Indie rock legends Broken Social Scene popped into Asheville last Thursday night along with lively openers The Belle Game. As usual, the vibes in the Orange Peel were mellow but there was a definite excitement in the air. I mean after all, one of the biggest acts ever was about to take the stage. You could feel the energy all around the floor as the crowd was gearing up for what would be one of the most solid musical nights of the entire year.
