Destroyer comes to The Grey Eagle

Dan Bejar brings his dreamy music project to Asheville

What started out as a solo music project back in 1995 in Vancouver has turned into something much bigger for Dan Bejar. Destroyer is still going strong 23 years later and Bejar continues providing pure musical wonderment for any of those who press play. This upcoming Monday night he'll be playing a show at The Grey Eagle with Mega Bog.

Asheville gets ready to get festive with the 2017 Christmas Jam

Warren Haynes and friends get ready to rock

It's been an Asheville tradition for years, and this go around for the 29th annual Christmas Jam is gonna be a big one. With a lineup that includes Gov't Mule, Ann Wilson, Trey Anastasio & Classic Tab, The Avett Brothers, Les Bros, Blackberry Smoke and more it's easy to see why people from near and far are so excited for this event.

All hail Calvin Johnson

One of the best shows to grace Asheville this year

Last week at The Mothlight was a holy night for all involved. Olympia, Washington native and icon of the DIY music scene Calvin Johnson blessed us with his presence on Wednesday night. Johnson earns his legendary status with decades of musical trailblazing. Calvin founded K Records, an important indie record label with early releases from bands like Beck, Modest Mouse, and Built to Spill. Johnson also found personal success in hugely influential bands like Beat Happening, The Go Team and The Halo Benders.

Dinosaur Jr. is far from extinct

Things got loud and fun at the band's Orange Peel performance last week

Last Tuesday night at The Orange Peel could probably be heard all the way in the far reaches of outer space, Dinosaur Jr. was in town and they're not afraid to turn the volume up to 11 and crank out the jams. Openers Easy Action added to the night's intensity and got people rocking out way before J Mascis and pals even took the stage.
