Candyrat Guitar Night featuring Peter Ciluzzi and Spencer Elliott
Band Description [+]

Peter Ciluzzi’s music transports listeners on a journey through virtuosic, evocative compositions that tell a story without words. His acclaimed solo instrumental work has accumulated millions of views on YouTube and more than 7 million plays on Spotify. As a luthier, his performances also showcase some of his own hand-crafted guitars. Having studied guitar making with Charles Fox at The American School of Lutherie in Portland, Oregon, he started Ciluzzi Guitars in a small Provincetown, MA workshop in 2006. His work has been displayed at a number of exhibitions including the Montreal Guitar Show.
With what has been described as a distinctive, timeless sound that is both familiar and unexpected, Ciluzzi’s music defies easy categorization and reflects a wide range of influences including jazz, classical, rock, bluegrass, and world music. He was a finalist in the 2007 Canadian Fingerstyle Guitar Competition. “A truly gifted guitarist but foremost a first-class composer and musician…….who is able to touch a person’s soul with so much warmth and impact.” (Bridge Guitar)
Spencer Elliott began composing instrumental piano music in his early years — his influences mainly consisting of contemporary composers like George Winston. It was later that he picked up the guitar, yet he was still more influenced by punk and alternative genres at that time. It wasn’t until 2007 that Spencer turned his focus to progressive steel string guitar. Spencer’s compositions possess a cinematic quality, painting rich melodic landscapes that fuse his contrasting influences. “To say that Spencer’s music has a cinematic quality would be an understatement. This is wordless music that takes you places.” (Rudy Panucci, Pop Cult)
