Pisgah Brewing Company and All Good Presents bring you , featuring 2 Nights and 4 sets of Dark Star Orchestra with special guests Peter Rowan, Midnight North, California Kind, The Lil Smokies, Josh Phillips Feel Good, Captain Midnight Band, Campfire Reverends and The Snozzberries. On Friday, August 16th, DSO will recreate the 5/3/79 show from Charlotte Coliseum, celebrating the 40th anniversary of this epic concert in GD history. Dark Star Orchestra has long enjoyed finishing their summer tour at the Pisgah Brewing Outdoor Stage with a 2-night run, nestled amongst the WNC mountains. This year Pisgah Brewing has teamed up with All Good Presents to create Dark Star’s Pisgah Jubilee, an expansive weekend with 2 stages of music, special VIP packages and beer offerings, local food and vendors and so much more! – includes early entry, preferred parking, a guided brewery tour and tasting, private viewing area, private cash bar, private port-a-lets, VIP laminate, commemorative event poster, and poster signing with all members of Dark Star Orchestra. | | | Performing to critical acclaim for over 20 years and over 2800 shows, Dark Star Orchestra continues the Grateful Dead live concert experience. Their shows are built off the Dead’s extensive catalog and the talent of these seven fine musicians. On any given night, the band will perform a show based on a set list from the Grateful Dead’s 30 years of extensive touring or use their catalog to program a unique set list for the show. This allows fans both young and old to share in the experience. By recreating set lists from the past, and by developing their own sets of Dead songs, Dark Star Orchestra offers a continually evolving artistic outlet within this musical canon. Honoring both the band and the fans, Dark Star Orchestra’s members seek out the unique style and sound of each era while simultaneously offering their own informed improvisations. | | | Grammy-award winner Peter Rowan is a singer-songwriter with a career spanning over five decades. From his early years playing under the tutelage of Bluegrass veteran Bill Monroe, to his time in Old & In the Way and his breakout as a solo musician and bandleader, Rowan has built a devoted, international fan base through a solid stream of recordings, collaborative projects, and constant touring. | | | Immediately after their sophomore studio release, 2015’s , Midnight North – fronted by lead songwriters Elliott Peck & Grahame Lesh with lush Hammond B3 organ, and harmony work from Alex Jordan and stomping bass lines from Connor O’Sullivan – began touring the country in earnest, visiting the East Coast and the Midwest for the first time in summer 2015.
